I am tired and dirty, but my garden is finally in. I have some bare spots, but hoping the cantaloupe, pumpkins and watermelon will fill in the gaps.
I planted seeds back at the beginning of April and kept them happy in the greenhouse. The seedlings were getting way too large for their containers and decided this weekend was a good day to finally plant them in the ground.
A few weeks ago, I tilled the raised beds with steer manure, chicken droppings and horse dung. Last year my garden was not so impressive so this year I wanted to build up the soil. Over the winter I threw all my egg shells into the beds. So hopefully we have a good crop this year!!
I planted snow peas, string beans, cucumbers, lavender, catnip, rosemary, corn (red and sweet), Zucchini, Yellow Squash, 3 kinds of pumpkins (size small, medium AND LARGE), watermelon, butternut squash, cauliflower, jalapeños, bell peppers, sun flowers and egg plant. I already had my onions planted and Josh brought in to the garden area 21 plants of different varieties of tomatoes!!!
And there are another 17 plants of tomatoes planted in the greenhouse with a TON of basil!!
My Grandpa Panattoni who owned a produce farm when I was young would be oh so proud of me!!
